United CenterLos Angeles Kings vs. Chicago Blackhawks Game 5 Free NHL Pick: Many think that there isn’t a whole heck of a lot of drama left in the conference finals, and they very well could be right. The Chicago Blackhawks are going to try to keep it that way on Saturday night in Game 5 of the Western Conference Finals against the Los Angeles Kings. Chicago is a -170 favorite on the NHL odds for this game, and there is little to dispel the thought that it would be beaten in this one.

Kings vs. Blackhawks Game Time: 8:00 p.m. ET
Kings vs. Blackhawks Live TV Coverage: NBC
NHL Odds: Kings +160 / Blackhawks -170 (Total: 4.5)

The Blackhawks are getting almost 80% of the betting action on Saturday for the fifth game of the Western Conference Finals, and we have a tough time arguing the point. The Kings really aren’t all that great at the moment, and there is just no scoring whatsoever. LA did muster goals in both the first and second periods of Game 4, but even then, it was Chicago which had the last laugh in the game. G Jonathan Quick hasn’t been good enough in this series, and we have been stating since Game 2 of this series that it just doesn’t feel like the Kings are going to get through this. Could Quick come out and post a shutout to salvage this one? It’s very possible. However, with the season on the line, we have to think that the Blackhawks are going to want to dispose of the Kings as quickly as possible. We aren’t ready to lay the -170 with Chicago, but we are willing to take a rare shot at a -1.5 puck-line so at least if we lose, we aren’t getting crippled.
