Anaheim Ducks vs. Detroit Red Wings Game 4 Free Pick: The Anaheim Ducks have figured out how to take back home ice advantage as quickly as they lost it, as they are coming off of a Game 3 win against the Detroit Red Wings. Now, Detroit is going to try to hold serve to bring this series back to the Honda Center level at two games apiece. The team is a -121 favorite on the NHL betting odds for Monday night’s game at Joe Louis Arena, which gets started at 8:00 p.m. ET.

At the outset of this series, one would have figured that we would have seen both G Viktor Fasth and G Jonas Hiller in this series for the Ducks. Instead, Head Coach Bruce Boudreau has gone with Hiller the whole way, even when he allowed five goals in Game 2’s loss. Hiller has rewarded Boudreau for his confidence, as he came out with a shutout victory in Game 3, the biggest win of the season for the Ducks. C Nick Bonino, a third liner is clearly making a name for himself in this series, and C Ryan Getzlaf has continued to grow as a star. These two have seven points between them, and they have clearly outshined all of the stars for the Red Wings. C Pavel Datsyuk and LW Henrik Zetterberg, for example, only had a total of three shots on goal and had no points between them in the shutout loss. This is a matter of trust, though. We don’t trust that the stars of the Red Wings are going to be able to score any substantial number of goals, and if that’s the case, we know that we want the puck line on our side. Detroit is the better of these two teams, but we think there’s a better chance for the Ducks to win this game outright than for the Red Wings to win it by more than two. The puck line is the right side for sure on the NHL odds. Free Ducks vs. Red Wings Game 4 Picks: Back the Anaheim Ducks +1.5 (-260)
