Giants @ Eagles Odds: Philadelphia -5 (O/U: 54) @ JustBet

Giants vs Eagles The Philadelphia Eagles have lost a franchise record 9 straight home games, while the New York Giants have lost 8 straight on the road. One of those streaks will end on Sunday. With a healthy Michael Vick back in the line up, the Eagles have to like their chances to win.  He was the starter earlier this month; when the Eagles beat the Giants in New York before injuring his hamstring and sitting out ever since. The Eagles lost 17-3 to the division leading Cowboys last week when Nick Foles left the game in the fourth quarter with a concussion, and Matt Barkley proved he is not the an immediate answer to the Eagles QB situation. Vick says the hamstring injury will not affect his mobility outside of the pocket and the plan is to use him as the team did when they got off to a 3-1 start to the season. He should have some success running the ball against a defense that is last in the league against running quarterbacks, and just six sacks this season.

However, New York won’t be entering this matchup as a winless team after ending its worst start since 1976 with a win against Minnesota on Monday Night Football. Eli Manning was not picked off in a game for the first time this season and the offense looked more like it has in years past. The Giants can also hang their hat on holding Vikings star RB Adrian Peterson to just 28 yards on 13 carries, which can not be said by many defenses in the NFL. However, the G-Men will face another big challenge this week in RB LeSean McCoy who leads the NFC in yards from scrimmage. But with Vick at the helm, this game is just way too one sided to back a Giants team that is playing a divisional game on the road, and with a short week of rest after getting their first win on Thursday. We expect the Eagles to win this one easily and cement their place in the NFC playoff picture for the remainder of the season.

Outlook for this Week 8 NFL Matchup: The Eagles offense will be too well balanced for the Giants defense to handle. Unlike the Vikings, the Eagles have running and passing options that will make the Giants defend all over the field. Without getting pressure on Mike Vick, the Eagles offense will do what they want both running and throwing the football. Giants QB Eli Manning is likely to throw a few costly interceptions in a game where he is forced to throw the ball often.  If they end up falling behind early, it could be be a long day for Eli and Giants offense, especially without a running game to speak of.
