Tuesday NBA Playoff Analysis: The Indiana Pacers will look to take a 2-0 series lead when they host the Miami Heat from Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana.

The Pacers had one of their better playoff performances in game 1 on Sunday, defeating the Heat 107-96. Paul George led the Pacers with 24 points, while all other Indiana starters scored 15 points or more. Roy Hibbert and David West were effective in the paint, with 19 points each and 16 rebounds combined. West was a major factor, getting open looks and his offensive versatility creating more scoring opportunities for Roy Hibbert. The Pacers shot 51.5% from the field and hit and exceptional 42.1% from beyond the arc. Miami had a lackluster performance, yet judging by the box score you would have thought the game would have been closer. Dwayne Wade led all Heat scorers with 27 points, while LeBron James added 25 points with 10 rebounds. No other Miami scorer was in double digits, yet Chris Anderson had 14 points off the bench while Ray Allen added 12. Miami outscored Indiana in the paint 54-38, yet only got to the foul line 15 times compared to 37 for Indiana.

I’m backing the Miami Heat in game 2. It’s do or die for Miami, and I don’t see them going down 2-0 in this series. Does Indiana match up well with Miami? Absolutely, but I don’t see Indiana hitting 42% from 3-point territory again, and I expect the Heat to get to the free throw line more than 15 times. The difference in free throw opportunities was astounding, and I don’t expect a repeat of that in game 2. I would also expect a better performance from Chris Bosh, Mario Chalmers, and Shane Battier, who combined for just 18 points in game 1. In the ‘Big 3’ era, Miami has responded well off of a game 1 loss, as they are 4-0 in game 2. Also, following a loss of 11 points or more in the playoffs, the Heat are 7-0 in the games after. These two teams split the regular season series 2-2, with the home team winning each contest. This Pacer team certainly looks revitalized, yet at home in the playoffs they are just 4-4. I do think this series is going 7 games, and I expect the Heat to respond with a stellar effort on the defensive end. Getting points with the home team might seem like a gift, but keep in mind the Pacers haven’t won back to back home games since February 27th. The Heat take game 2 on Tuesday night.

About the author: Chad Dawkins

Chad A. Dawkins is not only an avid sports betting blogger and writer, but he is also a truly dedicated sports handicapper. As a very passionate sports fanatic since childhood, he’s a spirited sports handicapper of the purest form. He not only picks winners by putting in hours of time on all sports; football, basketball, & baseball handicapping. Chad truely enjoys the daily capping grind. He utilizes his love of numbers, the basic betting trends and other raw data to draw up winners. His daily capping involves combining statistics, betting systems, and public perception. He then ties all of this information with his personal knowledge of the game; which is stemmed from his regular viewing habits. Dawkins uses all the tools available to him to practice different types of situational handicapping and to develop systems. Chad uses all of this to pick winners and find value where the sports betting public doesn’t see it. Recently, Dawkins has been contributing on several top websites. He’s been a long time (5+ year) member and often shares his insights on the Cappersinfo.com forums; whom we would like to thank for recommending Chad to Total Choice Sports Picks. He has a solid understanding of how the daily lines are set by the oddsmakers, what moves the line, influences the public; and just has a solid feel for the betting market in general. For all the said reason, this is a big reason why TC-Sports-Picks is honored to have him as a contribution and future expert.
