Updated 5/16/13: The Miami Heat have been beaten in one game and challenged in a few others, but they are still definitively the best team in the Eastern Conference. They are -800 favorites to head to the NBA Finals, and we still don’t think we have seen the best out of them yet as a whole, save for a few of the games against the Chicago Bulls. The hope is that G Dwyane Wade will get a few days of rest for his ailing knees and ultimately get back to as close to full strength as possible by the time the Eastern Conference Finals rolls around.
The question that’s left is whether Miami is going to be taking on the Indiana Pacers (+600) or the New York Knicks (+5000). Indiana has the 3-1 lead in this series, and it is clear that it has made itself the better of these two teams by playing great defense, rebounding the basketball, and getting multiple shots on a possession. If the Knicks don’t get more production out of their stars, they may as well be as good as dead at this point.
