Saturday NBA Playoff Analysis: With the series tied 1-1, the Indiana Pacers will attempt to regain home court advantage when they take on the Miami Heat in game 3 of the Eastern Conference finals.

Miami responded off a poor effort in game 1 with an 87-83 win in game 2. LeBron James and Dwayne Wade led the way for the Heat, scoring the final 20 points in the fourth quarter to lead Miami to the crucial road win. Wade led all scorers with 23 points, while James had 22. Backup guard Norris Cole added a spark off the bench with 12 points while Chris Anderson contributed with 12 rebounds. Miami shot 50.7% from the field and hit 8 of their 20 3-point attempts. Indiana came back down to earth in game 2. After shooting 51.5% from the field and scoring 107 points in game 1, the Pacers came back down to earth shooting just 40% from the field in game 2. Lance Stephenson led the Pacers with 25 points while the rest of the team struggled. Paul George finished with just 14 points and knocking down just 4 of 16 shots. David West, who was an offensive catalyst in game 1 finished with only 10 points hitting 5 of 16 from the field. The Pacers were again successful from 3-point territory, shooting 47.4 %, yet could not establish a consistent offense throughout the contest. Paul George did suffer a concussion in the game, yet has been cleared to play for game 3.

I’m grabbing the points with the Indiana Pacers on Saturday night. The Pacers had their struggles in the first two rounds, with the Atlanta series going 7 games, and the Washington series going 6. Games 1 and 2 against the Heat have been quite competitive, and it’s plain to see that the Pacers do give the Heat matchup problems and I expect that trend to continue. I would expect a better performance out of Paul George who struggled from the field, and it’s not like the Miami starters have been all that impressive. Wade and James led the squad with 45 points, and only got 22 points from Haslem, Bosh and Chalmers. I fully expect this series to go 7 games, and I also expect David West to be a lot more effective than game 2. West suffered a scratched eye in last Tuesday’s contest, and it was clear that the injury affected him. With a fully healthy and rested Pacer squad, I expect this one to go down to the wire, with the Heat squeaking out a victory in the last minute. It wouldn’t surprise me however to see Indiana win outright either.
