AL Wild Card GameTampa Bay Rays vs. Cleveland Indians AL Wild Card Game Free MLB Pick: Seven of the eight teams that are going to be playing in the main portion of the playoffs are set, but one more slot needs to be filled. Will that slot be taken by the Tampa Bay Rays or the Cleveland Indians? RHP Alex Cobb isn’t quite what LHP David Price is, knowing that he probably won’t be trusted to pitch a complete game in this one as the Rays had to get two days ago from Price. However, we love the mojo that he is bringing to the park at this point, and we really believe that this is a team that has the ability to not just win this game, but to go all the way, too. RHP Danny Salazar is a smart choice to start this game for Manager Terry Francona, but if he has to go around this Tampa Bay lineup for a third time, things could get ugly. 3B Evan Longoria is crushing the baseball right now, and Manager Joe Maddon just seems to be hitting all of the right buttons. If Tampa Bay can get six strong innings out of Cobb, something that he has routinely been doing all year long, there is a great opportunity to win the de facto “Game 164” on Wednesday night to advance to the ALDS against the hated Boston Red Sox. Tampa Bay ended Francona’s season in 2008 in the ALCS, and it effectively ended his career in Beantown in 2011. Now, it can knock him out of the playoffs one more time in 2013 with a deathblow on Wednesday.
