Yoenis Cespedes A'sOakland Athletics vs. Detroit Tigers ALDS Game 4 Free Pick: Both of the American League Divisional Series are still going on at this point, but both could end on Tuesday night. The Oakland Athletics are going to try to end the season of the Detroit Tigers on their home turf in what should be another great game in an epic series that won’t soon be forgotten.

The MLB odds are on the side of the Tigers in this one, as they have opened up at -154 to get the job done to get this series back to the West Coast for Game 5. The ‘total’ seems high at 8, but this is clearly the worst pitching matchup that we have seen so far in this series.

The Athletics know that they have this series where they want it, and even if they end up losing this game, they have their ace on the mound in RHP Bartolo Colon in Game 5 back in front of their fans. However, they’re going to want to end it here and get ready for a series with either the Boston Red Sox or the Tampa Bay Rays as quickly as possible. When you look at what has gone on with the bats for Detroit, it’s easy to see how this game could be the end of the season in Motown. No one has more than three hits in three games. SS Jose Iglesias is just 1-for-9, OF Austin Jackson is 1-for-11, OF Torii Hunter is 2-for-10, and OF Jhonny Peralta is 2-for-10. The team has done squat with runners in scoring position, and when you think about it, the Tigers only have a grand total of marks in two of the 27 innings in this series. Everything else is full of zeroes.

RHP Daniel Straily isn’t likely to keep that going full bore, knowing that he has a 3.96 ERA for the season. However, Straily pitched well down the stretch and kept his team in his last six starts. All he’s going to have to do is throw six reasonable innings, and the duel will be on between the Oakland bullpen and those Detroit batters. We would love to see RHP Grant Balfour with a shot to close this one out in the ninth to end this series, and we think that that is exactly what he is going to do. RHP Doug Fister, try as he might, will be the loser on Tuesday in what proves to be the series and season ending game for the Tigers. Fister has been good, but his 3.67 ERA isn’t going to be good enough to make up for an offense that couldn’t hit its way out of a paper bag right now.
