Washington Nationals vs. Atlanta Braves Monday Free Pick: Just one night after playing on Sunday Night Baseball, the Atlanta Braves are back on the MLB TV schedule once again, playing on ESPN for the second straight night. Their foe in this one though, is the Washington Nationals, who are quite possibly one of the most underachieving teams in the game thus far in the season. These two NL East foes will collide at 7:10 p.m. ET at Turner Field. Though the Braves are back at home, Washington is the -130 favorite on the MLB betting lines.

The Braves have won seven games in a row in this series, including sweeping a three-game set at Nationals Park earlier this year. They really haven’t figured out how to knock around RHP Stephen Strasburg though, and that’s the task in this game. Sure, Atlanta beat Strasburg the last time these two met, but the righty didn’t pitch poorly either, as it won the game 3-1. Strasburg is only getting 1.8 runs of support per game, and that’s why he is 1-4 on the season. Granted, a 3.16 ERA looks almost humane, something that we just don’t expect to see out of the superhuman right-hander, but those numbers should definitely not be netting a 1-4 record. Meanwhile, RHP Julio Teheran has led the Braves to wins in all four of his starts in spite of the fact that he has a 5.48 ERA. The team has given him 7.0 runs of support per game. Yikes. However, the Braves have lost four in a row, and they are coming off of a series where their bullpen was blown to bits by the Detroit Tigers. They also scored just seven runs in those three games combined. True, they’re back at home, but we just don’t see the value on the Braves in this one. Nationals vs. Braves Free Pick for April 29th: Take the Washington Nationals -130
