Miami Marlins vs. Cincinnati Reds Thursday Free Pick: As -165 favorites, the Cincinnati Reds are expected to put another one in the win column on the MLB odds on Thursday night. This is the first game of a four-game set against the Miami Marlins, who are arguably sporting the worst team that baseball has to offer. The first pitch at the Great American Ball Park is slated for 7:10 p.m. ET, and the MLB Network will have live coverage of the game.

It’s so tough to bet against the Marlins this year, knowing that you have to lay prices like this one in order to do so, but in this case, it seems to be a wise investment once again when you look at the percentages. Is Cincinnati really losing this game 37% of the time? We just don’t see how it would. The Marlins are bringing to the table an offense that is averaging 2.13 runs per game, is batting .209, and has a team OPS of .543. Miami has hit three home runs in 15 games this year as well. All of those marks are the worst in the game. The team also has more games of being shut out (4) than it does with more than three runs being scored (2). Is Cincinnati the best team in baseball? Not nearly. What it is though, is a great home team at 7-2. Sure, we don’t really trust that LHP Anthony Cingrani is going to be able to get the job done in a huge way in his very first MLB start, but we certainly don’t think that RHP Jose Fernandez is going to be able to hold this Cincy offense down to just a run or two either. It’ll be another game where the Fish score two runs or so, and the Reds end up pounding them into submission. Marlins vs. Reds Free Pick for April 18th: Take the Cincinnati Reds -165
