Los Angeles Dodgers vs. San Diego Padres Tuesday Free Pick: The Los Angeles Dodgers have been pitching incredibly well this season, and they are going to have a great chance of doing the job again in a 6:40 p.m. ET late afternoon start against the San Diego Padres on Tuesday. LA is the heavy -145 favorite on the MLB betting lines in this one, which is the first of what could be a dominating three-game set for the boys in blue.

The Dodgers have had good fortunate here at Petco Park over the course of the last few years, going 12-6 in their last 18 visits. They found their groove against the Pittsburgh Pirates over the course of the last few days, sweeping the series and allowing just two total runs in the process. Still, there has to be a real concern about the offense right now, which has only scored more than four runs in a game once all season long, and it is averaging just 2.83 runs per game on the campaign. Things will improve for sure, and though going to Petco isn’t generally an offense’s best dream, facing LHP Clayton Richard might be. Richard has been a wreck over the course of the last few seasons with the Padres. It’s not good in a pitcher’s park when your ERA is hovering right around 4.00, but that’s what Richard has been doing for the past four seasons. He was touched up for eight runs (seven earned) in his first start of the year last week, and he is going to be up against what could be a beast in RHP Josh Beckett tonight. Beckett had the worst start of the season for an LA pitcher against the Giants last week, and he is going to be eager to get back on the bump to take on a San Diego team that he has a 2.09 ERA and a 5-2 record against. Dodgers vs. Padres Free Pick for April 9th: Back the Los Angeles Dodgers -145
