Los Angeles Dodgers vs. San Francisco Giants Sunday Free Pick: ESPN’s Sunday Night Baseball betting action heads to AT&T Park this week for an 8:00 p.m. ET first pitch between the Los Angeles Dodgers and the San Francisco Giants. The Giants are going for their fifth straight win in this series, including a sweep of the Dodgers, and they are -135 favorites on the MLB odds to take down this victory. We aren’t all that sure that should be the case, though.

The oddsmakers are trusting RHP Matt Cain for some unknown reason. We tend to think that Cain is this year’s version of RHP Tim Lincecum. Last season, for those of you remember last season, Lincecum was a train wreck for the mass majority of the year. Cain has already allowed as many home runs over the course of the last four starts as he has allowed in the entire 2011 season. That’s what really scares us when push comes to shove. Though we are a bit spooked that this is the first time that RHP Hyun-Jin Ryu is pitching against the same team for a second time in his career, we still think that this rookie is truthfully as good as just about any second-tier pitcher in baseball, just below all of those studs like Justin Verlander, CC Sabathia, etc. Cain used to be one of those studs, but at this point, he and his 6.49 ERA just aren’t that. The Dodgers will at least salvage the third game in this series. Dodgers vs. Giants Free Pick for May 5th: Take the Los Angeles Dodgers +131
