MLB All-Star GameFree 2013 MLB All-Star Game Pick: After going through around 90 games in the regular season, it’s time to have some fun here at the All-Star Game, as some of the best players in the world duke it out for home field advantage in the World Series for their league. The American League All-Stars are the +115 underdogs on the All-Star Game odds, and we think that they are the right side for our MLB picks even though they have been dipping in price all week long.

MLB Odds: American League +115 / National League -125 (Total: 8)

Inning by inning and pound for pound, we really love what the American League All-Stars are bringing to the table. We know that there is a whole heck of a lot of power in this lineup, especially with Chris Davis and Prince Fielder almost certainly guaranteed to play basically the entire game between them at first base. The pitching staff does give us some worries, but we know that if this game gets deep in, the combination of Grant Balfour, Joe Nathan, and Mariano Rivera will be able to shut the door. For the National League, we just see far too many question marks when you look at the staff. Cliff Lee and Clayton Kershaw are two of the only men on this entire staff with big time experience at this level. On top of that, the team might not really have a bona fide closer. We suppose that Aroldis Chapman would get the job if he were needed, though Jason Grilli might get the call in the ninth as well. Though both have pitched well this year, neither have had this type of pressure on them to get the job done in the Midsummer Classic. That’s why we really think it’s ridiculous that, in spite of the fact that the NL has the better top to bottom lineup, the American League is the underdog on the 2013 All-Star Game betting lines.
