Elite Eight – Wichita State vs. Ohio State Free Pick: The Ohio State Buckeyes Final Four road has been one full of twists and turns. Now, they are going to be facing off with the highest seed left in this tournament, and No. 9 Wichita State Shockers. The Shockers are carrying the torch for all of the little guys in the dance, as they are only surrounded by teams from the ACC, Big East, Big Ten, and SEC. The Buckeyes are the biggest favorites on the Elite 8 odds, as they are giving 4 ½-points to the Missouri Valley reps. Tip time from the Staples Center is set for 7:05 p.m. ET.

There is a point that Wichita State is clearly going to bow out of this tournament, and the time is here for that to happen. The Shockers were able to muscle up with the Pitt Panthers, and they were able to shoot around the Gonzaga Bulldogs. They picked up an easy draw in the Sweet 16 by taking down the No. 13 La Salle Explorers, and now, they’re here, halfway to the National Championship. As it is though, we are really concerned about WSU’s ability to slow down Deshaun Thomas. The most comparable player to Thomas that the Shockers have seen thus far in this tournament is Kelly Olynyk, and that was the one man that gave the Zags a shot at avoiding the upset. There was just no answer for anything that he was going on the glass or in the paint offensively, and if that’s what happens again in this one, Wichita State is in a heck of a lot of trouble. The Buckeyes are shooting the three ball as well as any team in this tournament, hitting 50.0 percent of their long range shots. The clutch shots are falling as well, as the last two games have ended on Ohio State three-pointers with minimal time remaining. We know that the Bucks have only won their last two games by exactly three points each, but this time will be different. It’s time to see why a majority of college basketball experts had Ohio State coming out of the West Region. Free Saturday College Basketball Pick: Take the Ohio State Buckeyes -4 ½.
