The Longhorns have been playing better basketball ever since G Myck Kabongo came back into the fold. Kabongo has averaged 15.8 points per game, and the Horns have gone 5-3 SU and 4-3-1 ATS since his return from suspension. Texas could ultimately be an NIT team if it can win these first two games here in KC. TCU was definitively the worst team in the Big XII this year, but it also proved to be a bit stingy down the stretch. Not only did the Horned Frogs stick around with Kansas State in Manhattan in the last week of the season, but they also beat a bubble bound Oklahoma outfit SU as well. We’re not saying that the Frogs are going to come away with a victory in this one, but it is clear that the scoring is going to be limited here in Kansas City, and that gives a lot of value to all of those points that we are going to be getting. Conference tournament games are generally a lot closer than those in the regular season, and we’ll take double digits in any situation where we have two non-NCAA Tournament teams squaring off against one another on a big time stage.
