Sweet 16 – Michigan vs. Kansas Free Pick: Two teams that were previously ranked No. 1 in the nation are meeting already in the Sweet 16 in the South Region. The first game of the night tips at 7:37 p.m. ET at Dallas Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, where the Kansas Jayhawks will look to take down the Michigan Wolverines. Kansas opened up the week at -5, but since that point, the number has come down to just -2. The ‘total’, which we will be taking a look at in this one, is set at 136. The winner moves on to the Elite Eight, where either the Florida Gators or the Florida Gulf Coast Eagles will be waiting.

The interior defense for Kansas has been out of this world in this tournament, and of course, a lot of that has to do with the fact that Jeff Withey has already blocked a whopping 12 shots in just two games. He alters tons of shot attempts as well, and he really is the main reason why the Jayhawks are virtually impossible to score upon. In fact, this is something that has been with KU for the last six seasons. In that stretch, the team has allowed an average of just 61.4 points per game. Michigan meanwhile, really struggled this year against Top 25 ranked defenses in the country. Big Blue only averaged 63.0 points per game against those teams, and we should remember as well, that two of those games went into overtime. Michigan doesn’t have the bigs that can really get Withey into foul trouble, and Kansas’ defense has been the one constant that it has had going well for it all season long. The Jayhawks are a whopping 21-4 for ‘under’ bettors in their last 25 NCAA Tournament games, and there is no reason to think that this one is getting into the 130s either.
